Jianxin WangChevron, USA

• Jianxin Wang, is a senior staff research scientist at Chevron Technical Center, specialized in asphaltene and scale related flow assurance issues and reservoir fluid phase behavior (PVT). He joined Chevron in 2006 and has since been working on conducting strategic research, deploying new technologies to optimize asset developments, and solving technical issues to support business operations. His main interests focus on solid deposition in reservoir and production system, novel mitigation and remediation methodologies, and advanced thermodynamic modeling. Jianxin holds a PhD degree in Petroleum Engineering, an MS degree in Computer Science, and a BS degree in Physics. His previous experiences include 10 years with China National Petroleum Corporation as a research engineer working on petrophysics and 6 years with New Mexico Petroleum Recovery Research Center working on asphaltene, wettability, and oil recovery.

Professor Murray R GrayUniversity of Alberta

• Murray R. Gray, BSc, MEng, PhD has over 25 years of research experience in upgrading of heavy oil and oil sands bitumen. His success in collaborative research with industry on the development of Canada’s oil sands has been recognized by numerous awards and prizes including the Centennial Award from the professional engineering association in Alberta (2011), and the Industrial Practice Award of the Canadian Society for Chemical Engineering(2003).
• In 2005, he was elected a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering. In 2006, he was awarded a Canada Research Chair and an Industrial Research Chair in Oil Sands Upgrading.
• Gray obtained his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology in 1984. He also holds a M. Eng. degree with a specialization in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Calgary (1980) and a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Toronto (1978).

Doris GonzalezInmenso, USA

• Doris Gonzalez holds a BSc, MSc, and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineer from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, The University of Oklahoma, and Rice University. She was a professor at the Chemical Engineering Department in the Universidad de Los Andes in Bogota. After her Ph.D., Doris worked for Schlumberger Reservoir Fluids Laboratory as Project Engineer and Data Quality Manager. Then, she worked as Reservoir Engineer / Fluid Specialist at BP America in Houston. Currently, Doris is the CEO – Founder of the Integrated Modern Energy Solutions, INMENSO LLC. Doris was an officer of the Upstream Engineering & Flow Assurance (UEFA) Forum in the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) and a member of the SPE. She has co-authored several technical papers related to flow assurance, fluid characterization, production optimization, field development planning, and other reservoir engineering topics.

Professor Ryan HartmanNew York University, USA

• Ryan L. Hartman is Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering in the NYU Tandon School of Engineering. Prof. Hartman completed his postdoctoral research in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Cambridge), his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor), and his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Michigan Technological University (Houghton).
• He is appointed to the Faculty Senate Council of New York University, as the Catalysis and Reaction Engineering Programming Chair of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), the Executive Board of the International Symposium of Catalysis and Reaction Engineering (ISCRE), and to the Advisory Board of Reaction Chemistry & Engineering, a Royal Society of Chemistry Journal.
• He has also been honored as Visiting Assistant Professor of the Institute of Condensed Matter Chemistry of Bordeaux (ICMCB) CNRS, as winner of the NSF CAREER Award, and a member of the National Academy of Inventors. Hartman returned to academia following his private sector career with Schlumberger Limited.

• Jeramie Adams is the vice president, Asphalt and Petroleum Technologies.
• On abr 2012-215 he is managing the Asphalt and Petroleum Technologies group working on projects dealing with carbon materials, chemical modification of coal (carbon ore) and other undervalued feedstocks to produce high value materials, upcycling of waste materials such as resinous composites (wind turbine blades and carbon fiber) and plastics for asphalt additives. Upcycling of waste and modification of undervalued resources are key to helping industry meet their circular economy goals. Traditional activities in the Asphalt and Petroleum technology group are still ongoing in the areas of paving and roofing asphalt characterization, and petroleum characterization and processing.
